The loss of a child is one of life’s greatest sufferings. Parents of service members stationed overseas understandably worry about their children’s well-being on a daily basis.

Joseph Villasenor, a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, had an unwavering devotion to his nation.

It seemed unfathomable to them that their son had vanished. It was really difficult to deal with the suffering. They shared the story of their son’s unfortunate passing and the mysterious event that happened shorty after.

They were paying their respects at the Garden Park Cemetery in Arlington, Texas, when they saw something peculiar: a trail of lush, green grass led from their son’s tomb to the surrounding soil.

They have no way of knowing the true motivation.

What they didn’t know was that their daughter had met an elderly guy named Jake Reissig by happenstance a few months ago.

Jake was in the cemetery delivering flowers to his late wife’s grave when he came across Joseph’s sobbing sister.

As he got closer, he had to ask her what was wrong…

She shared the sad news that her brother had passed away recently, leaving the entire family in mourning. Even though Jake couldn’t make everything better, he could still do something to express how much he cared.

It was his intention to take flowers to Joseph’s grave. He also daily watered the lawn.

Rachel and her husband Raymond went to visit their son’s grave and saw that it was covered in flowers. The sight cheered them up considerably. Yet they couldn’t figure out who should be thanked for the kind act.

They eventually figured out that Jake was the one maintaining the grave marker.

They were brought to tears by Jake’s act of kindness. They were so grateful to this old man that they couldn’t even express it in words.
