Every day, a pensioner found a fresh loaf of bread in plastic on his porch: he didn’t know where it came from, and when he turned to the police, he was horrified 😱😱
Every morning, at exactly the same time, the pensioner stepped out onto his porch, and there he always found the same strange gift – a fresh loaf of bread, wrapped in plastic. On the packaging was a bright label with the name of an unknown store. The name sounded unusual, as if from another country, and the old man immediately felt that something wasn’t right.
At first, he thought that maybe the neighbors were showing kindness – someone had noticed his loneliness and decided to help with groceries.
He was even a little touched, but he still didn’t eat the bread – something inside told him that free gifts are never accidental.
The next day, the story repeated itself: the same loaf, in the same packaging, in the same spot. Then he thought that perhaps the social services had started some new support program for pensioners. But the strange thing was that none of the neighbors had mentioned it, and he had received no notification.
On the third day, his nerves gave way. Everything troubled him: the exact timing, the mysterious origin of the bread.
He tucked the loaf under his arm and went to the nearest store. Approaching the saleswoman, he asked:
— Are you the ones bringing me this bread? Maybe it’s some kind of new promotion?
The woman looked at him as if he had lost his mind.
— Oh no, grandpa, we don’t have promotions or charity. We just sell bread, we don’t deliver it door to door, she said curtly.
The old man left the store in even greater confusion. The more he thought about it, the more anxious he became. He was now even afraid to touch the bread – what if something was mixed into it? What if someone was trying to poison him?
On the fourth morning, he decided to act differently. He took an old video camera from the pantry, one he had once used at family celebrations, and set it up to film the porch.
And when he watched the recording the next morning, his heart nearly stopped. On the screen, it was clearly visible: at four o’clock in the morning, a small drone silently flew up to his house, hovered above the porch, carefully lowered the bread package, and immediately flew away.
The old man gasped for breath. This was certainly not a neighbor and not social services. This was something else entirely.
With trembling hands, he gathered his things and went to the police station. And that’s when he learned something terrifying 😱😱 To be continued in the first comment 👇👇
When he showed the recording, he could barely explain what was happening. The policemen exchanged glances, and one of them quietly smirked:
— Sir, you’ve stumbled into an experiment.
It turned out that a new startup company had decided to test an unusual bread delivery system. And his address had accidentally ended up in their client database.
All because a few days earlier, the pensioner, while trying to check the weather forecast on his phone, had accidentally clicked on an ad and unknowingly signed up for a one-month bread delivery subscription.
He himself didn’t even understand how it had happened – it seemed like he had just “tapped the wrong place.” But in reality, he had subscribed to a trial plan.
When he heard the explanation, he wasn’t sure whether to sigh with relief or get angry. They refunded his money and canceled the subscription, but the uneasy feeling remained.
And the bread that lay at home he never dared to taste – those loaves looked far too sinister.
